How to Generate Spooning AI Images — Complete Guide
Low light, a bed that hasn't been made, two bodies folded into each other on their sides. Nobody upright. Nobody angled toward a lens. Spooning lives in that quiet register — closeness rather than display — and that single fact is why it reads completely differently from doggy style or missionary, even when a thumbnail makes the from-behind framing look identical.
Pick the spooning category and the scene gets composed around that geometry for you: camera position, body contact, where the limbs land. Start in the generator, or look through the finished spooning scenes first to see what the category actually produces.
What Spooning Actually Looks Like
As a category, spooning is a strict physical definition rather than a mood. Both bodies lie on their sides on the bed. Her back is pressed against his chest, his hips against her ass, and penetration happens from behind while both stay side-lying. Neither partner kneels. Neither is braced on all fours.
Three things have to be readable in the frame for an image to belong here: both people genuinely on their sides, the man behind her, and the side-penetration angle visible. Miss any one of those and you have a different category on your hands.
That is also where the near-misses come from. A side-lying embrace from behind with both heads on the pillow and no penetration angle is a cuddle, not this. Doggy style shares the from-behind read but puts her on all fours with him kneeling. Prone-flat poses, where she's face-down rather than on her side, fall outside too. Body orientation is the whole test.
Here's what that looks like in practice:

Prompts and Settings That Work
You never type any of this. The category carries it. But it's worth seeing the actual wording the scene is built from, because it explains why certain results come back the way they do.
The prose description behind the category looks like this:
```text
POV from behind a young woman alone lying on her side with one leg lifted, looking back over her shoulder at the camera with parted lips, full body visible, intimate side angle with soft warm lighting, female alone in frame, no other people
```
Read it in pieces. *Lying on her side with one leg lifted* is the pose lock. *Looking back over her shoulder* gives the face a reason to be in frame from a rear camera. *Intimate side angle with soft warm lighting* sets distance and mood — that's the part that varies most between generations.
The same scene also exists in a tag-weighted phrasing:
```text
(spooning position, lying on side, one leg lifted:1.3), from behind, cheek on pillow, looking back, on bed, realistic skin texture, completely nude
```
The `:1.3` is emphasis. The pose terms are pushed harder than everything else so the geometry survives contact with whatever else you've selected.
Two variants shift the setting without touching the pose. White sheets, macro-close:
```text
POV first-person rear angle of a young woman alone lying on her side on white sheets with one leg lifted high, her completely shaved smooth pink pussy fully exposed between her thighs from the side, looking back over her shoulder at the camera with hungry parted lips, intimate side macro view focused on her exposed pussy, warm bedroom lighting, full body visible, female alone in frame, no other people
```
And the bed swapped for a leather couch:
```text
POV first-person rear angle of a young woman alone lying on her side on a leather couch with one leg lifted high and bent at the knee, her completely shaved smooth pink pussy fully exposed between her thighs from the side, looking back over her shoulder with parted lips, intimate side macro view, warm living-room lighting, full body visible, female alone in frame, no other people
```
Notice what never moves: side-lying posture, leg lifted, the look back, the rear camera. Surface, lighting and crop tightness are the levers. Mood changes; the position doesn't.
That range is wider than it sounds. Warm light — morning through a window, a lamp left on — reads domestic and unhurried, which is the version of this pose most people picture. Cool or dim light pushes exactly the same bodies somewhere more charged. Distance does its own work: a wide frame showing contact along the whole length of both bodies is a different image from a tight crop on where hip meets thigh, even though nothing about the pose has changed between them. Sheets, pillows, the texture of whatever they're lying on — all of it shifts how soft or how raw the result feels.
Turning on scene variant rotation is worth it if you want a run of images that all read as spooning without repeating the same room, the same light and the same crop.
Making One
1. Open the Generate page and pick spooning. You can select other categories alongside it — see the combination notes below for which ones survive together.
2. Start the generation. Everything in the section above is applied for you.
3. Results land in your gallery as WebP at 1312x1968 — portrait, which suits a pose that runs shoulder to feet.
A single image costs 15 credits. Sets are cheaper per shot: 68 credits for five, 120 for ten. Side-lying anatomy varies more between generations than a standing pose does, so a set of five is usually the better buy — you get to pick the cleanest one instead of hoping.
When the Output Disappoints
Most disappointing results aren't broken images. They're images from a neighbouring category. Scan a batch and you'll occasionally find a pure cuddle with no penetration angle, or a frame where one body has rolled up onto a knee and drifted toward doggy style. In a thumbnail these pass. At full size they don't.
The other failure mode is anatomical, and it comes from how much contact this pose involves. Two bodies overlapping along their whole length is exactly where limbs get duplicated, where the point of contact blurs into a single merged shape, and where genitals end up looking detached from the body they belong to. Poses with air between the partners rarely do this. This one has no air.
Neither problem is worth agonising over, and neither is specific to this category. Both are simply why generating a set beats generating one image and hoping for the best.
Close Calls
The categories spooning gets confused with, and what each one actually is:
Category What it actually is
--- ---
spooning (this guide) Both bodies lie on their sides on the bed. Her back presses against his chest. His hips press against her ass. Penetration happens from behind while side-lying. Neither is kneeling or on all fours.
cowgirl She straddles and rides the man who lies on his back. She is on top and upright.
doggy style Penetration from behind while she is on all fours or bent forward. Penetrator kneels behind her.
missionary She is on her back. Legs are spread or around him. Penetration happens from on top face-to-face.
Combination Notes
Spooning is a scene category — it describes body position and setting, and it shares that shelf with 69-position, against-wall, ahegao, all-fours, amazon-position and anal. Only one of them can apply to a given image. Pick two and only the first one you picked shows up; the others are quietly dropped. So choose your position deliberately and spend your other selections on things that stack, like look and setting.
Because the position needs two people to exist at all, a male partner is part of these generations by default. You can switch that off in your settings, but the geometry the category describes assumes he's there.
Quick Answers
Q: How do I know a result is really in this category?
Check body orientation first, before anything else. If either person has come up onto a knee or gone flat on their front, the image has left the category, however good it looks otherwise.
Q: Can I change the position itself?
No — the side-lying arrangement and its contact points are what make an image spooning rather than something else, so that part is fixed. Lighting, setting and how close the camera sits are all yours to move.
Q: I picked spooning and another position. Why did only one appear?
Two positions can't occupy the same image. The first position you selected is the one that renders. Deselect the other and generate again if you wanted that one instead.
Q: What do I actually get back?
A WebP file at 1312x1968, delivered to your gallery. Portrait framing, which fits a full-body side-lying scene without cropping awkwardly at the knees.
